泰國美食 (3/4) – 東北部地區Taste of Thailand (3/4) – The Northeast
The Northeast is
perhaps the least-known region to the average visitors. Yet, I-san
covers a third of Thailand’s total area, contains many sights of
historical interest, and has a highly distinctive culture and cuisine of
its own.
Northeasterners like their food highly
seasoned and many connoisseurs of Thai cooking rank some typical I-san
dishes a being among their favorite creations. These include Som Tam
(green papaya salas), Lap (spicy minced meat or chicken salad) and Kai
Yang (barbecued chicken). Freshwater fish and shrimp are also popular,
often cooked with herbs and spices.
